VIRGINIA CHORISTERS SUMMER INSTITUTE

The Virginia Choristers Summer Institute welcomes youth ages 6-18 for an inspirational choral music experience.

The daily schedule of rehearsals, classes and individual attention from our distinguished faculty is a challenging and exhilarating artistic experience.

 

VCSI offers students:

  • A supportive and inspiring musical environment for students at all levels of choral experience

  • An opportunity to study with a world-class faculty

  • A daily schedule of conservatory-style classes and individual attention 

  • Repertoire selections tailored to match student abilities

  • Instruction on proper vocal production

  • Exercises with the emphasis to reach a singer's appropriate range, the development of effective practice skills, memorization techniques and performance etiquette

  • The opportunity to develop musicianship skills and confidence in their ability to express themselves through the beauty of music

  • Developmentally-appropriate, culturally-rich children’s choir

  • Literature to enhance musical literacy and musicianship skills
