Suzi Fischer is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Fredericksburg, VA. Since moving to Richmond in 2007 to pursue her degree in jazz performance from VCU, Suzi has become an in demand musician, performing and recording with top artists of the local music community and beyond. Her performance credits include saxophone with The Temptations, Jason Mraz, The Richmond Symphony, John D’Earth, Foxygen, The Big Payback, and many more. As a recording session musician Suzi is a featured soloist on John D’Earth’s 2013 release On. Suzi has also performed on productions by Spacebomb records, including Foxygen’s critically acclaimed 2017 release Hang. From 2017 onward Suzi has performed and recorded with Thorp Jenson on keyboards, vocals, saxophone, and most recently bass guitar. Suzi can be heard on Thorp’s 2017 release Odessa, which was featured in Rolling Stone Country in September of that same year. Most recently Suzi can be heard with the R4nd4zzo Bigb4nd playing lead alto saxophone, flute, and clarinet in a traditional big band setting, with modern arrangements by Andrew Randazzo. As an educator, Suzi has been teaching both piano and woodwinds for the past 10 years in the Richmond area and has enjoyed helping students of all ages and levels pursue their own musical aspirations.
